I think you will agree that these past weeks have been among some of the most turbulent and emotional that any of us can remember in our lifetimes. The impact of the coronavirus outbreak has been felt by every individual all around the world.
Although a perceived negative, this crisis and the social distancing it has required, has allowed us to witness something profound and moving about ourselves: our fond and deeply felt wish to be connected with one another.
As we focus in on the positives we can take from the current situation, we believe that there is never a better time than right now to self-reflect, re-group and reconnect with what is important to us all, and work out what we would like to happen next.  It’s almost as if someone has clicked onto a reset button and what happens next has not yet been designed.
The last few weeks have reminded me about a phrase my father in law would use when he was helping redecorate our home a few years ago.  When everything was all over the place and our house was in a real mess, he would ask us all to stop, pause and think, and before going back to work we had to “clear our feet”.  Perhaps we have now been provided with a time to do exactly that; stop, pause, think and “clear our feet”.
We may never get another opportunity like this to retrain and remind ourselves of those skills that will help us design that life we will wake up to when all of this is over, and so this week, Kate and I wanted to provide you with a reminder of those skills that you developed when we first met.  In some way to reconnect with that first hug we shared when you decided to join us on our courses.  Although we can’t hug right now, we are still connected, just in a virtual way – just for now anyway.
